Taking that sweet Ave
\nWhich from Gabriel came,
\nPeace confirm within us,
\nChanging Eva’s name.<\/p>\n

Break the captives’ fetters,
\nLight on blindness pour,
\nAll our ills expelling,

Show thyself a Mother;
\nMay the Word Divine,

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, teach me.
\nFrom all pride and its effects, deliver me, Jesus<\/em>.
\nFrom coveting greatness for its own sake or to excess, etc.
\n<\/em>From contempt of You and Your law,
\nFrom a puffed-up self-image,
\nFrom claiming to be a self-made man,
\nFrom ingratitude for Your gifts,
\nFrom thinking that I have earned Your gifts by my effort alone,
\nFrom boasting of having what I do not have,
\nFrom excusing my faults while judging others,
\nFrom wishing to be the sole possessor of the skills I have,
\nFrom setting myself before others,<\/p>\n

From all vainglory, deliver me, Jesus.
\n<\/em>From craving praise for its own sake, etc.
\n<\/em>From looking for flattery,
\nFrom withholding glory from You,
\nFrom showing off to the harm of my neighbor,
\nFrom presumption and false self-confidence,
\nFrom boastfulness,
\nFrom hypocrisy,
\nFrom the excessive need to be fashionable,
\nFrom obstinacy and contention,
\nFrom disobedience,<\/p>\n

From all false humility, deliver me, Jesus.
\n<\/em>From forfeiting my dignity as a child of God, etc.
\n<\/em>From burying the talents that You gave me,
\nFrom an unreasonable fear of failure,
\nFrom avoiding my true vocation,
\nFrom despair at my weakness,
\nIn the ways of humility, teach me, Jesus.
\n<\/em>To know my limits and my strengths, etc.
\n<\/em>To acknowledge the depravity of my past sins,
\nTo acclaim You as the author of all the good I do,
\nTo put my confidence in You,
\nTo be subject to You and Your Church,
\nTo be subject to others for Your sake,
\nTo revere Your presence in others,
\nTo rejoice in Your gifts in others, even the gifts unseen,
\nTo do great things by Your help and for Your glory, strengthen me, Jesus<\/em>.
\nTo seek greatness in heavenly things and lasting virtue, etc.
\n<\/em>To do my best even when unnoticed,
\nTo put my share of Your gifts at Your service,
\nTo be neither puffed up by honor nor downcast by shame,
\nTo do penance for my sins and those of others,
\nAbove all, to strive to love You with all my being,
\nAnd to love my neighbor as myself,
\nIn Your name, I pray. Amen.<\/p>\n

Grant, O merciful Father, that Your Divine Spirit may enlighten, inflame and purify us, that He may penetrate us with His heavenly dew and make us fruitful in good works, through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.<\/p>\n

Prayer of Entrustment to the Womb of Mary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Almighty God, Heavenly Father,
\nwho have placed me, by Baptism, in the womb of the Virgin Mary
\nbeneath her Immaculate Heart
\nto be together with your Son
\nand ever more conformed to Him by the power of the Holy Spirit,
\ngrant that I may whole-heartedly embrace my dependence on you
\nas I place all my trust in my Mother Mary.
\nMay I never scorn my weakness which your Son chose to share with me,
\nbut may I always be grateful to be little and helpless,
\nknowing that without you I can do nothing.
\nVeiled with her beneath the protective care of Saint Joseph her spouse,
\nmay I find in her a refuge against every danger
\nand in her womb a hiding place invisible to the ancient foe.
\nMay I know that I am loved perfectly like Jesus by Joseph and Mary,
\nthose parents, who, receiving everything from You,
\nwill always provide for all of my needs.
