Father Boniface Hicks, OSBWelcome to the homepage of Father Boniface Patrick Hicks, OSB. I am a Benedictine monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey and a Catholic priest, serving as parochial vicar at Divine Grace Parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Radio Station

I am an On Air contributor of We Are One Body® Catholic radio (WAOB®).

Books

My latest book is The Hidden Power of Silence in the Mass: A Guide for Encountering Christ in the Liturgy. It moves from the sublime to the practical, describing five movements of silence in the Mass, with reflection questions and exercises at the end of each chapter for reading alone or with a parish group.

That book and four others — on Marian consecration, St. Joseph, spiritual direction and personal prayer — are on the Books and Articles page, with their covers, alongside my articles and my academic work, a number of which you can read there in full.

Two Consecrations

If you are looking for something to pray rather than something to read, there are two consecrations here. Each runs thirty-three days, and both are on this site in full, a day at a time, at no cost.

Consecration to Jesus through Mary — about ten minutes a day of Scripture, with reflections from the popes and the saints, to help you entrust yourself to our Lady. This is the consecration that became my book The Fruit of Her Womb.

Consecration to the Heart of Jesus through the Hearts of Mary and Joseph — thirty-three days that begin with the emptying of your own heart before they turn to his. The page lists start dates for each of the feasts, so you can time the thirty-three days to finish on the feast you are aiming for.

Begin whenever you like. Both are there waiting.
